Register change log

Because the Home Office replaces the register rather than versioning it, this log exists only because the snapshots were captured at the time.

Why sponsors leave

Between 15 Apr 2026 and 1 Jul 2026, 19 sponsors stopped being listed on the register. Over 2026 Q2, the Home Office revoked 3 student sponsor licences across the whole UK.

So at most 3 of those 19 departures were revocations. The other 16 left for some reason the register does not record — a licence surrendered, not renewed, a merger, or a closure. Which 3 were revoked is not published, and is not guessed at here.

Revocation counts are national totals for the Student route, from UKVI sponsorship transparency data (table SC_01). They name no sponsor. The window counted is the pair of snapshots either side of the quarter, which is close to it but never exactly it — the archive is only daily from 2 Sept 2026, so earlier quarters are bracketed by whatever was captured. Quarters the archive cannot bracket within three weeks are left out rather than estimated.

A sponsor no longer appearing on the register may have been suspended, had its licence revoked, surrendered it, or been renamed. The register does not distinguish between these, so this log records only that the entry is no longer listed. Known renames are reconciled so that they are not reported as removals.
