Privacy
Sponsor Record publishes public registers. It collects almost nothing about the people who read it, and what it does collect you gave it deliberately, on one of two forms.
What is held, and why

The parts people usually want to know
- Nothing is sold or shared
- No advertising networks, no data brokers, no third-party trackers. The only companies that touch your details are the host that runs the site and the service that delivers its email.
- How long it is kept
- Twenty-four months, then deleted. A correction older than two years is about a register entry that has since changed several times; a sign-up nobody has acted on in two years is not a live interest. Ask sooner and it goes sooner.
- You can have it deleted
- Email corrections@sponsorrecord.com and say so. No account needed, no form, no reason required. It will be done and you will be told when.
- Names of institution heads
- Pages name vice-chancellors and heads, taken from Wikipedia and Wikidata. That is public information about a public role. If you hold one of those roles and want it removed from your institution's page, ask and it will be.
- Who is behind it
- Sponsor Record, contactable at privacy@sponsorrecord.com, decides what personal data is held here and why — one person and a set of scripts, not a company with a data protection officer. That is stated because it changes what you should expect: replies come from a human, within five working days.
- The lawful basis
- Consent, for the digest list: you asked for it, and withdrawing is one click or one email. Legitimate interests, for a correction — you sent it because you wanted it acted on, and it cannot be acted on without keeping it long enough to check. Neither is used for anything you did not come here to do.
- Who else touches it
- Vercel hosts the site. Resend delivers its email and holds the digest list. Both process data in the United States under their standard data-processing terms. Nobody else — no analytics service, no advertising network, no data broker.
- Your other rights
- You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it corrected, object to it being held, or ask for it to be restricted while a dispute is settled. Same address, same five working days. If the answer is unsatisfactory you can complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk, and you do not need our permission to do it.
What is not personal data
The registers themselves are about organisations, not people: sponsor names, towns, licence statuses, student numbers. All of it is published by the Home Office, the Office for Students and HESA, and is reproduced here under the licences named in the methodology. If you believe a record about your institution is wrong, tell us — that is a correction rather than a privacy matter, and it is handled faster.
